About the Artist
The sculpture ‘Two Sisters’ is mounted high on the curved face of one of our two original (1904) concrete silos, and captures a powerful moment of aspiration and solidarity between two sisters. Composed predominantly of reclaimed aluminium, the artwork tells a story of mutual support and shared ambition. One figure reaches skyward, her form stretched in graceful determination. Below her, another figure ascends, grasping the hand of the one above, supporting each other. At once a gesture of seeking help and offering it, the scene embodies the essence of women lifting one another — not just metaphorically, but literally — toward their highest potential.
The minimalist, geometric design lends the figures a sense of weightlessness, as though their combined strength defies gravity itself. Clean lines and angular forms echo both the industrial character of the silo and the innovation embedded in the sculpture’s sustainable construction. By using salvaged aluminium, the piece also reflects a commitment to environmental consciousness — proving that beauty and meaning can rise from what others discard.
This sculpture is more than a visual landmark; it is a symbol of empowerment, resilience, and the deep love of two sisters. Whether viewed from afar or studied up close, it invites reflection on the power of shared dreams and the vital role of community in reaching new heights. Silos Estate 2025
